Coil-Sert® Inserts are supplied in coarse and fine threads. Type 2, Type 4 and Type 6 Tooling are used for finer pitch inserts, which are larger in the free state than the coarse pitch inserts. They have to be “pre-wound” to a smaller diameter for installation. Type 1, Type 3 and Type 5 Tooling (threaded mandrel) is used for coarse pitch inserts.

HAND INSERTING TOOL (PREWINDER) – This type of tool is ideal for installing inserts in small production runs or in areas where compressed air or electricity are not available and offers a quicker alternative to the simple hand Installation tool.

THREADED MANDREL – This mandrel is wound into the insert which is then wound into the tapped hole. If it is a fine thread, a prewinder will be included. Type 5 & Type 6 are used in the kits for minimal repair.
